The Clarke N. Johnsen band/orchestra programs are one of the top programs in the state. They are historic programs that have benefited the lives of so many young musicians. The programs offer beginning band/orchestra classes to elementary and junior high groups. In these courses, students will learn to exhibit proper playing habits, develop sufficient technical facility, and develop a proper concept of tone quality on their instrument. Students will build and expand their music vocabulary, their sensitivity in intonation, and their accuracy in playing rhythms.It also offers intermediate and advanced education to junior high students in the Lakepoint, Erda and Stansbury areas. The entire program hosts more than 150 musicians from 5th-8th grade.
